A new study published in JAMA quantifies exactly how large that expansion actually is. The study: Researchers analysed a nationally representative sample of 4,366 adults aged 30 to 79, drawn from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, representing roughly 154.5 million US adults without known cardiovascular disease. They compared statin eligibility under the new 2026 guideline against the previous 2018 guideline.
